Signalers are responsible for implementing an alarm, while their function is also important, consisting in scaring off potential intruders. The alarm signal can be sound, light or light-sound, therefore, signaling devices are divided into:
* acoustic signaling devices,
* optical signaling devices,
* optical-acoustic signaling devices.
Another criterion for separation is the way of eating:
* autonomous signaling devices - equipped with a battery,
* signaling devices are not autonomous - without battery, power supply exclusively from the control panel.
Acoustic signaling devices must give an alarm signal by means of a sound signal. Depending on the applied sound generation technologies, we can distinguish dynamic and piezoelectric signaling devices. Due to the low cost of production with slightly worse audio performance, piezoelectric alarms are more common. Depending on the complexity of the model, the signaling devices also differ in the type of sound signal, which is most often modulated or is 2-tone. It is obvious that when choosing signaling devices, the main parameters are volume and sound modulation.
Optical signaling devices should signal the alarm with a light signal. The main criterion of the section is the applied light module. The most common light sources in optical signaling devices are luminous diodes (LEDs), incandescent or xenon lamps. The next parameter is the color of the light source, the most common ones are red, orange, blue, yellow, white.
Optical-acoustic signaling devices are a combination of two types, and accordingly their functions are also identical to acoustic and optical signaling devices.
An important element that indicates the quality of the signaling device is its body, especially in the case of external signaling devices. Resistance to temperature changes, tightness, shock resistance are properties that determine the duration of the device. An interesting solution is also the anti-foam protection of the sound part of the signaling device. This solution protects the sound source from being covered with foam used to muffle the alarm.
