CCTV - general information

The purpose of CCTV systems is enabling remote/local observation and registration of events that take place at given set.

The simplest system is built out of three basic elements:

• circuit that processes analog visual information to electric signal
• signal transmission circuits
• and electrical signal to video image processing circuit

First group includes cameras, equipped in optical element (lens) and simple image processing circuit.
Next group are various devices that provide both digital data transmission and proper formatting of that data. As such devices we classify image dividers, multiplexers, radio/web transmission units etc.
Last group?s function is visualization and image recording. For this purpose monitors, videoprinters, vcrs and dvrs.

Each of these groups has its own features, important to entire surveillance system, that provide functionality and usefulness to fulfill complex tasks.
Keeping in mind chain architecture of CCTV systems (camera, transmission, visualization) each of used elements has direct influence on final performance of entire system. Because of this fact, it is of utmost importance to use all devices of same class/quality.
