External and internal electromagnetic locks for doors together with door closers are most widely used as actuators for controlled locking and unlocking of doors, including as part of access control and management systems. Unlike electromechanical devices, electromagnetic devices are easy to operate, easily and quickly mounted on the door.
Electromagnetic models keep the doors closed by the action of a strong electromagnet, which attracts the metal plate attached to the door. To open the sash, use the exit button or the control signal is sent to the electromagnetic lock from the access control system controller - ACS.
Operating principle
Structurally, locks of this type consist of 2 parts: an electromagnet, which is attached to the door frame, and a metal counter plate, mounted on the door leaf. In operating mode, a direct current is supplied to the winding of the electromagnet, which forms a strong electromagnetic field, which attracts the metal plate of the canvas to the lock. Thus, the door is guaranteed to be closed by a door closer, and the electromagnetic lock keeps it closed. In order to open the sash, you must press the exit button and remove the supply voltage, or the ACS controller will do it. When the power supply is cut off, the magnetic field disappears and the door is unlocked.
The devices differ among themselves in size and holding force, which varies in the range from 50 to 1200 kg. In addition to entrance doors, electromagnetic locks are ideal for use on doors of emergency, fire and escape routes.
